Rewards of Sending Durood upon Beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ
In our religion Islam
there are different types of zikar and every zikar have its own blessings but
one zikar is always accepted in the court of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ that is sending Durood
upon the beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ . In this piece of
writing we will learn about the blessings of Durood shareef. As we know it is obligatory upon every Muslim to send
Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ says in Holy Quran:
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ وَ مَلٰٓىٕكَتَهٗ یُصَلُّوْنَ
عَلَى النَّبِیِّؕ-یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا صَلُّوْا عَلَیْهِ وَ
سَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِیْمًا(۵۶)
Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings on the
Informer of the unseen news (Prophet); O Believers! (You must also) send
blessings and abundant salutations upon him.
(Al
ahzaab, 56)
There are lots of blessed Ahadith describing the
rewards of sending Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ
وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. Some are given here:
The beloved Rasoolصَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: The person closest to me on the Day of Judgment will
be the one who would have recited Salat upon me abundantly in the world.
(Sunan-ut-Tirmiżi, vol. 2,
pp. 27, Hadees 484)
The beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: “Whoever recites Salat upon
me once; Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ sends ten mercies upon him and writes ten virtuous deeds in his book of
deeds.
(Sunan-ut-Tirmiżi, vol. 2,
pp. 28, Hadees 484)
The beloved Rasoolصَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: The angels keep sending mercies upon a Muslim until he
continues to recite Salat upon me. Now, it is the person’s choice whether he
recites less or more.

The rewards of sending Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ are countless. It is beneficial
for the sender in this world as well as in the world hereafter. Some of these
rewards are discussed below:
Pleasure of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: The act of sending Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ brings about the pleasure of
Allah عَزَّ
وَجَلَّ. Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ is pleased with a person who recites Durood upon his
beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and gives
him countless rewards.
Intercession of Beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: On the Day of Judgment, when everyone will be in need of intercession
for entering in Jannah, at that day the person who recites Durood will be
blessed with the intercession of Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ
وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ.
Sustenance is increased: The person who
sends Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ receives
its reward in a way that his sustenance is increased.
Forgiveness of Sins: Sending Durood upon Holy Prophet
صَلَّی
اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ is also a cause of forgiveness
of sins. The recitation of Durood results into the forgiveness of sins of the
reciter.
Increase in Virtuous Deeds: The reciting Durood upon Holy prophet صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ increases the virtuous deeds in
the book of deed.
Elevation of Ranks: The ranks of the sender of Durood
are elevated in this world and in the world hereafter.
Increase the love for Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: The sending
Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ increases
the love for Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ in the
heart of sender.
Cleanse Heart: The
recitation of Durood cleanses one’s heart and keeps it away from doing sins and
thinking bad.
Help in difficulties: A person
who is indulged in difficulties should recite Durood as it helps to get rid of
difficulties.
Get rid of pains: Different types of pains in
the body can be removed by sending Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ.
Diseases are cured: The
recitation of Durood is also a good cure of diseases.
Forgotten thing is recollected: Another
blessed reward of sending Durood is that it causes the recollections of
forgotten things.
Remains protected from backbiting: The persons
if recite Durood upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ
وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ when they meet they will remain protected from backbiting.
One gets privilege to see the blessed vision of
Mustafa: Every Muslim wishes to see the blessed vision of
beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. To fulfill
this wish we should send Durood upon our beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی
عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ abundantly.
Things will get easy over Siraat Bridge: On the Day
of Judgment every person has to pass over the Siraat Bridge and it is very
difficult task. To get things easy over Siraat Bridge one should send Durood
upon Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and it will
cause easiness at that difficult moment.
May Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ bless us with the love for beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ
تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and enable us to send Durood
upon him abundantly! Ameen
